New joono software from i-design makes ATMs a more dynamic part of the marketing mix

June 7, 2011

This week, i-design Group PLC, a developer of third-party advertising for ATMs, launched joono, a customer-engagement software that is designed to bring ATMs into the financial institution's overall marketing mix.

Ana Stewart, CEO of i-design, said joono allows banks to upload marketing campaigns on ATMs within hours, not weeks. The longer timeframe often has isolated ATMs from the financial institutions' more dynamic marketing tools including online and mobile.

"Joono enables banks to communicate with their customers through a larger number of channels, including online, mobile phones and plasma screens, in addition to ATMs and other self-service machines," Stewart added.

Officials of i-design, which is based in Dundee, Scotland, introduced and demonstrated joono's capabilities at the ATMIA conference in London. The event was held Monday and Tuesday.

Joono, which replaces i-design's atmAd, will continue to provide banks and ATM owners with the ability to generate new revenues through third-party advertising. Financial institutions or ATM owners can either lease or purchase joono's software, Stewart said.

"I am delighted to be launching our next generation technology, joono, today.  In developing joono, we have retained all of the benefits of our existing atmAd solution but have significantly enhanced its features, range and functionality," Stewart said.
