DAYTON, Ohio - NCR Corp., Wincor Nixdorf and HSBC were respectively named The Banker Technology 2006 award winners for fraud prevention and high-tech solutions.
According to a news release, NCR Corp. received the Fraud Prevention Innovation in Retail Banking award for its ATM channel software, Solidcore for Aptra. The software reduces the need for real-time patch updates and relies on integrated technology to permit only authorized codes to run, protecting good code from tampering or hijacking.
Wincor and HSBC received the New Channels Project of the Year award for their high-tech refurbishment of HSBC's U.K. branches. The project saw the installation of 470 new-generation Wincor cash and check deposit machines and 500 self-service kiosks.
The awards will be presented June 8 in London. The Banker Technology awards are independently judged by global financial-industry leaders and recognize best-in-class innovations and successes in financial technology.
