DAYTON, Ohio, and DALLAS -- NCR Corporation will provide ATM-based kiosks with touch-screen Internet access for 7-Eleven, Inc.
The kiosks will be rolled out in more than 200 7-Eleven stores in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Consumers will be able to cash checks, purchase money orders, and send and receive wire transfers, in addition to making traditional ATM transactions. 7-Eleven has partnered with American Express for this initial rollout of the kiosks.
Future plans call for expanding the services available through the in- store kiosks to include event ticketing and online shopping.
"The development of our V.com™ kiosk represents an extension of our long-standing relationship with NCR as an equipment provider to 7-Eleven and will facilitate our e-commerce strategy," said Rick Updyke, vice president of planning for 7-Eleven.
At the heart of the Web ATMs will be NCR's APTRA™ software, which allows 7-Eleven customers to access financial services and information using standard Internet technology.
