LONDON -- NCR Corporation says it will supply its EasyPoint 53 ATMs to PEN, one of the UK's newest independent ATM deployers, in a multimillion-pound deal.
According to a news release, the EasyPoint 53's small size, easy management and lower cost have made it popular with UK retailers. In addition, the EasyPoint 53's added functionality will allow UK retailers to provide ATM services beyond cash to their customers, such as mobile phone top-ups and utility bill payment.
Nick Platt, PEN's managing director, said in the release, "This agreement marks a significant development for PEN's UK ATM business and broadens our product portfolio to retailers. NCR has developed an ATM at a size and price that is perfect for the newsagent, convenience and forecourt marketplace."
According to the release, PEN entered the convenience ATM market in February 2002.
