NCR to supply ATMs, service in French retail outlets

October 5, 2003

MASSY, France - Banque Chabrières, a member of the Mousquetaires Group, has selected NCR Corporation (NYSE: NCR) to replace half of its existing ATMs located in Intermarcheretail outlets and to extend the presence of ATMs to other Intermarche stores located in rural areas or on the outskirts of small- and medium-size towns.

According to a news release, this deal means all of Chabrières' Intermarche ATMs will be supplied by NCR, with NCR providing all ATM maintenance services.

The 250 new Personas 70 machines will conform to smart card standards mandated by Visa and MasterCard.

Patrick Goasguen, general manager of NCR's Financial Solutions Division in France, said in the release that the deal "strengthens NCR's position as a leader in the off-site ATM market."

"More and more rural residents and inhabitants of small- and medium-size towns have told us of their difficulties in accessing ATMs in town centers. They prefer to use ATMs at the point of sale for increased safety and simplicity. ATMs located at a retail store are the perfect answer to their expectations,"said Patrice Rajchenbach, member of Intermarche.

Banque Chabrières, a member of the Mousquetaires Group, offers a range of financial services under the name Aramis.
