LONDON - NCR Corp. (NYSE: NCR) shipped more than 50,000 ATMs globally in 2000, a record number in the industry. The total includes shipments in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. The company said its greatest sales growth occurred in Asia Pacific, and reported double-digit growth in North America.
The sales figures helped NCR boost its revenues in its Financial Self Service and Retails Store Automation to $2.8 billion. In a news release, the company said it had made progress in three key areas in the last year. NCR has experienced triple-digit growth in placing ATMs in retail locations. It also said there was significant progress in advanced functionality machines, such as check deposit automation. And finally NCR announced growth through self-service outsourcing, including a $173 million deal with Royal Bank of Canada.
