LONDON and DAYTON, Ohio -- NCR delivered a record 46,509 ATMs to customers worldwide in 1998, representing a 10 percent increase over 1997 deliveries of 42,440 units. In addition to new terminals, NCR delivered a record number of upgrades and kits both in volume and value.
"Our 1998 results solidified our position as the world's leading supplier of ATMs for the 12th consecutive year," said Per-Olof Loof, senior vice president of NCR's Financial Solutions Group.
In the U.S., ATM shipments were at record levels with double-digit growth. "When all the other manufacturers' numbers are released, we believe that we will have significantly increased our overall market share," Loof said.
