NCR R&D center in India heading to new state-of-the-art home

August 18, 2016

NCR Corp. has announced plans to relocate in early 2017 from its existing R&D center in the southern Indian city of Hyderabad to a new, state-of-the-art facility in that city.

According to a company press release, the new location will serve as a global center of excellence.

"As we continue to build out our innovative, omnichannel architecture, the Hyderabad facility will play an important role as a strategic global center for software development," said Eli Rosner, senior vice president and chief technology officer for software solutions at NCR.

NCR's Hyderabad R&D center is one of the company's largest software development centers, the release said. Launched in 2004 with a staff of 50 engineers, the facility now houses more than 800 software development professionals and an additional 125 consultants supporting customer deployment of NCR technologies.

"Multichannel commerce has quickly evolved into omnichannel commerce as businesses strive to develop seamless, transactional experiences to meet the demands of tech-savvy consumers," said NCR India's Ashok Nallam, who leads the Hyderabad center. "Our new R&D center will continue to invest in talent to create a robust innovation pipeline to change the way consumers connect, interact and transact with businesses."
