LONDON -- NCR Corporation (NYSE: NCR) has partnered with Transoft International Inc., a provider of cash management software, to implement and maintain Transoft's OptiCash and OptiNet software for UBS AG, the leading bank in Switzerland and one of the top 10 banks in the world.
UBS contracted with NCR to enable cost savings in the way UBS supplies cash to its ATMs and to its branches. The goal is reduce its cash holdings by 25 percent, according to a news release.
Dorothee Borer, UBS project manager for cash management, said in the release, "The key evaluation criteria were (NCR's) experience, the maturity of the software solution and the number of reference sites around the world."
A pilot involving 150 ATMs and branches is scheduled to begin in October, according to the release.
