NCR names Langos VP of global operations

DAYTON, Ohio - NCR Corp. has named Bruce Langos to the newly created position of vice president of global operations. Langos' new post takes effect May 29.

According to a news release, Langos will oversee all operational functions across the company worldwide and will design and implement programs that strengthen NCR's processes and increase its efficiency.

Langos, a 30-year NCR veteran, will report directly to president and chief executive Bill Nuti.

"This position demonstrates that we are extremely focused on improving our productivity and building a sustainable competitive cost structure, particularly in the areas of supply-chain efficiency, order management and field sales automation," Nuti said. "Given his many years in delivering outstanding results to the company, Bruce is an excellent fit to lead initiatives that ensure our operations are as efficient and effective as possible."

Langos most recently served as vice president of business operations for NCR's Teradata Division.

NCR to sell Symbol RFID products

NCR announced May 15 that it signed a deal with Symbol Technologies Inc. to resell its portfolio of enterprise mobility products, including radio frequency identification readers and tags, to its customers.

NCR's share price rose 27 cents to $41.18 following the announcement. Symbol's share price jumped 35 cents to $12.85.
