NCR Interactive Teller achieves milestone

August 16, 2016

NCR Corp., a provider of omnichannel banking solutions, announced yesterday that it has reached the milestone of 300 installations of NCR Interactive Teller technology with new deployments completed at the Bank of Oak Ridge in Oak Ridge, North Carolina, and Gorham Savings Bank in Gorham, Maine.

Interactive teller technology allows a financial institution's customers to interact with a remotely located teller via high-quality video and audio.

The remote teller has full control over each module of a specially configured ATM. As a result, customers can complete up to 95 percent of traditional teller window transactions at the device with remote teller assistance.

According to the release, Interactive Teller allows banks to transform branches from transaction hubs into advisory centers. Consumers who can't visit a branch during traditional hours can still get the dedicated assistance and support of their financial institution with a remote teller.

"We are always on the lookout for new opportunities to provide clients with the most convenient and best banking experience possible," Tom Wayne, president of Bank of Oak Ridge, said in the announcement. "Deploying NCR's Interactive Teller machines enables us to expand our teller hours by 31 percent, offer a better work-life balance for our employees and continue to develop even stronger relationships with our clients and community."

"Interactive Teller software offers seamless, reliable service," said Kevin Heatley, senior vice president and director of technology at Gorham Savings. "Our customers really appreciate the increased convenience and the flexibility of choice on how they interact with our staff."
