ORLANDO, Fla. -- NCR Corporation (NYSE: NCR) says that Welch Systems, a Peoria, Ill.-based ISO with more than 1,000 ATMs under contract in Illinois and Missouri, will deploy NCR's iATMglobal Cash and Shop e-commerce solution on more than 180 NCR EasyPoint ATMs located at convenience stores and gas stations in the St. Louis area.
According to an NCR news release, transactions currently available through iATMglobal following a six-month pilot include multiple long-distance phone cards, movie tickets and pre-paid wireless re-charge. Further product offerings such as travel and event tickets, flower arrangements and gifts are planned. (See related story NCR advances e-commerce effort)
Jeff Hewitt, Welch Systems' vice president of sales, said in a news release that the availability of NCR's iATMglobal solution is a key differentiator for his company, bringing more convenience to the consumer and increasing the value proposition of the ATM.
"Our customers are excited to be the first in this space to offer new products and transaction capabilities on their ATMs," Hewitt said in the release. "The iATMglobal technology moves Welch Systems ahead of our competition."
