NCR brings new ATM models to MEA market

The SelfServ 23 and 27 feature greater cassette capacity and security for deployers, and multitouch and pinch-swipe gesture capability for users, the company says.

NCR Corp. has launched its SelfServ 23 and 27 interior and exterior cash dispensers in Middle East and African markets, the company announced this week.

Both models include the company's new S2 Media Dispense Module, which increases cassette capacity by 17 percent — to 2,500 notes.

Security on the ATMs has been "designed in" rather than "bolted on," the release said. The SelfServ 23 and 27 are protected at potential points of compromise from insider attacks, as well as cash trapping, card skimming and dispenser manipulations on the ATM.

Additionally, the company said, the safe body is the same strength as the door and provides 66 percent more resistance to full access attacks and 50 percent more resistance to attacks to remove a cassette.

The SelfServ 23 and 27 are designed to meet global accessibility standards and are fully EMV compliant, and next-gen consumer interaction is enabled through multitouch and pinch-swipe gesture capability, the release said.

"By combining the latest in software and security technology into an attractive, consumer-friendly hardware design, the SelfServ 23 and 27 help financial institutions in Middle East Africa meet the challenges of growth, operational efficiency and responsibility to their customers," said George Flouros, NCR vice president for the Middle East and Africa region."
