Middle Eastern bank building multi-channel platform, beginning with ATMs

September 14, 2004

DUBLIN - Cairo Amman Bank (CAB), the largest retail bank in Jordan and Palestine, will build a multi-channel banking platform using CR2's BankWorld ATM, Internet, Mobile and IVR solutions.

By adopting a multi-channel strategy using BankWorld Channel Manager, Cairo Amman Bank will be able to integrate and manage the channels through which banking services are delivered, according to a news release.

"Cairo Amman were looking for a flexible and reliable solution with Arabic language capabilities,"said Cian Kinsella, CR2's chief executive. "These will be seamlessly integrated into their back office systems in Jordan and the West Bank, allowing customers to access accounts in either country via any channel."

"CAB customers can use the same ID across the different channels. They can also manage all accounts from a single contact as part of our CRM service. This will have the same look and feel as all other interaction points," said Jamal Habahbeh, CAB's head of e-services.

The first channel to launch was ATM banking, which went live at the beginning of September.  The bank is now rolling out SMS and mobile banking, Internet and phone banking.

CAB also will issue Visa Electron debit cards to both existing and new customers using the CR2 CardWorld Issuer and Producer solutions, which will allow the bank to physically produce the cards and PIN mailers, and other card-related items.
