BMO Bank of Montreal today announced that it will add more than 800 Cash ATMs to its network across Canada by 2014, increasing its total to nearly 3,000 full-service and cash-only ATMs.
Two hundred of the new Cash ATMs have been installed so far; another 400 are slated for deployment by year end. Terminals will be installed in grocery stores, pharmacies, gas stations and post-secondary school campuses, among other locations, said Andrew Irvine, senior vice president at BMO.
"[I]t's our mission to provide a great customer experience and make it easier for Canadians to manage their finances, whether in-branch, online or on the go. The significant expansion of our existing full-service ATM network to include the new Cash ATMs is a reflection of that commitment,"
As part of the expansion, BMO has added the BMO Branch and ATM Locator function to its BMO Blue Room mobile app. The free, tool is available on iPhone and Android smartphones. The bank is also running a contest through May, entering BMO cardholders who use their card at any of the new Cash ATMs for one of five 10,000 Air Miles reward miles.
