CARSON, Calif. -- Mag-Tek, a check and card reader manufacturer since 1972, secured a contract with kiosk manufacturer InnTouch U.K. Ltd. to supply insertion card readers for their hotel kiosk applications.
The installed base of kiosks was retrofitted with Mag-Tek's new dual-headed, Port-Powered Insertion Card Readers. According to Mag-Tek, this resulted in an improvement of 400 percent read reliability.
The reader's dual-head design allows the card to be successfully read, even if the card is inserted incorrectly. With dual heads, the reader reads single or dual track cards in two card orientations for reliability and user-friendliness.
InnTouch has awarded Mag-Tek the contract to supply all its card readers, including a new InnTouch installation for Inter-Continental Hotels where a desktop version of the kiosk is fitted with Mag-Tek's Port-Powered Swipe Reader.
