Speculation about the possible sale of NCR continues to bubble up: Today, Seeking Alpha cited a tip by Dealreporter claiming that the company is seeking first round bids from potential buyers.
Dealreporter is a specialist news and analysis service that tracks and analyzes corporate events and claims to "deliver the latest rumors, news and analysis from first-class industry sources."
Seeking Alpha previously cited a May 15 item by Dealreporter saying that NCR had hired JPMorgan to broker talks with potential buyers.
On April 22 — the eve of an NCR Q1 earnings call — the Wall Street Journal reported that NCR was exploring strategic options such as asset sales and capital returns, but said that a full sale of the company was a less likely option.
At that time, an NCR spokesperson told ATM Marketplace that "As a matter of policy, we do not comment on rumors or speculation."
Similar rumors developed in April about a possible sale of ATM vendor Wincor Nixdorf, and were similarly dismissed.
