Louisiana's First Federal an early mover to Windows 7

February 21, 2014

With Windows XP end of support looming on April 8, First Federal Bank of Louisiana has called on Diebold Inc. to help upgrade its Opteva ATMs to run on the Microsoft Windows 7 operating system. A news release from the ATM maker heralded First Federal as an early mover on the upgrade.

"First Federal Bank of Louisiana is among the first institutions to proactively address the migration to Windows 7," said Mychal D. Kempt, vice president, North America operations, Diebold. "We're encouraging all institutions to follow the bank's lead to get this migration on their schedules well before the April 2014 deadline."

The upgrade, along with the installation of Agilis 3 software and new encrypting PIN pads on the bank's ATMs will ensure its compliance with the latest PCI PTS version 3.1 security requirements, Diebold said.

The bank will also use Diebold ATM Endpoint Protection Monitoring and ATM Skimming Alert Monitoring to help bolster customer security.

First Federal Bank of Louisiana is a full-service community bank serving 10 Louisiana cities through 16 branches in southwest and central Louisiana.
