Legislative proposal would mandate ATM donation option

June 27, 2012

Lawmakers in Wyoming are considering a proposal requiring all ATMs in the state to give the user the option to make a donation to Wyoming's parks and historic sites.

According to an article in the Laramie Boomerang, the bill was to be presented to the legislature's Joint Travel, Recreation, Wildlife and Cultural Resources Interim Committee, which met this week.

The bill's sponsor, Republican state Sen. Bruce Burns, said the measure would help defray possible budget cuts by soliciting funds for Wyoming's second largest industry, tourism.
