Korean ATM-maker Puloon Technology has announced plans to expand into the ATM market through its U.S.-based arm, Puloon USA.
Currently, Puloon is best known in the United States for its reliable cash dispensers, according to a press release. The company's initial ATM launch in the U.S. market will introduce two compact machines — Sirius I and Sirius II — designed for high-volume locations.
"Puloon built its reputation around designing quality hardware," said Manny Lopez, president of Puloon USA ATMs.
"As an ATM operator myself, I know how reliability can affect your bottom line. Puloon produces machines that are going to be workhorses, but have the design and features that are attractive to consumers, retailers and financial institution partners. Puloon ATMs offer all of that — with the added bonus of affordability," said Lopez in the release.
Sirius I is the smallest ATM model in its class measuring just 14 inches by 22 inches, and can hold up to 8,000 notes. The unit comes standard with an 8-inch screen (a touch screen is optional), a UL291 business hour safe, a removable 1,000-note cassette and an e-lock. The machine is ADA, EMV and PCI compliant.
Sirius II boasts high-level functionality with the addition of options that include a barcode reader and touch screen, and capacity for up to four removable 2,000-note cassettes with shutter spray and presenter spray options. Standard features include a 15-inch high-resolution screen, a UL291 business hour safe and an e-lock. The device is ADA, EMV and PCI compliant.
