Kiosk Prepaid has introduced a closed-loop, cash-to-card kiosk that enables cashless payments, accepts multiple payment methods including cryptocurrency, and can serve as an ATM, according to a press release.
Its closed-loop cash-to-card feature allows the customer to enter cash into the kiosk, retrieve a card and swipe the card in the proprietary card swiper that automatically deducts from the customer balance. While this can only be used within a venue (closed loop), the customer can retrieve cash from the kiosk as well as reload the card, creating customer stickiness.
At six feet tall, three square-feet wide and 883 pounds, the kiosk offers the consumer the ability to cash their payroll and government checks, buy and sell gift cards, send money worldwide, purchase airtime cards, purchase and load a debit cards, purchase bitcoin, foreign currency exchange, and, as an option, serves as an ATM, eliminating necessary space in a retail location..
The unit comes with up to a five-cassette dispenser, each holding 2,500 notes, enabling it to not only hold cash in any denomination, but also to dispense other media such as registrations, stickers, etc.
The unit can also accommodate up to 2,400 notes in the bill acceptor, comes with a 3-in-1 check/bill/identification scanner, a 32-inch split screen curved monitor that pushes ads and acts as a touchscreen for the customer, receipt printer, card dispenser/acceptor, encrypted keypad for POS and ATM, UPS backup and industrial PC.
The customer can choose from up to 15 different languages on screen, and for servicing, can be accessed with a wrist vain, key card, or facial recognition. Each cash dispenser cassette can be opened individually by code on touch screen.
The operator can start and monitor the kiosk's activity remotely.
The kiosk's features not only serve community needs, but also eliminate or reduce theft, fraud, robbery, counterfeits, employee shrinkage (cash handling mistakes), payroll and pathogens associated with cash while providing financial freedom and access to consumers.
