Kiosk Award winners for '05 announced in San Francisco

In a presentation given Oct. 18, the winners of the sixth-annual Kiosk Awards were announced.
Networld Alliance vice president and associate publisher Joseph Grove announced the nominees and winners in eight categories, plus the "Readers Choice" winner.

Twenty-seven companies submitted 42 entries in eight categories to the competition. From the entries, expert judges evaluated the quality of entrants' supporting materials. Evaluations were tallied and computed together to reveal the finalists for each category. On-site judging took place Monday, Oct. 17.
Winners and runners-up in the eight main categories are listed below. In addition, a "Readers Choice Award" survey was published online at KioskMarketplace.com, soliciting reader thoughts on which kiosk application was the best of its breed. As announced Tuesday morning, the winner of the Readers Choice Award was the Express Bill Payment Kiosk at Verizon Wireless, by Source Technologies.
