JERSEY CITY, N.J.-A Jersey City ATM was robbed of nearly $160,000 as a repairman serviced the machine on June 19.
According to the Jersey Journal, while working on the machine at about 9 a.m., the 63-year-old serviceman said a robber brandishing a semiautomatic handgun ordered him to turn away from the ATM. The thief then removed four cash cassettes containing $159,900 from the machine and fled.
The report stated that the repairman called police two hours after the robbery. Additionally, police believe the incident wasn't recorded on the ATM's security video or on any nearby security cameras.
