Jackpotting 101: Russian masters teaching newbies how to cash out ATMs

A recent rash of ATM jackpotting attacks in Moscow was carried out by novice thieves tutored by master hackers, according to a report by the Russian news service RT.

RT cited anonymous sources who said that experienced ATM hackers are offering training courses to newbies in exchange for a share of the proceeds from successful black box attacks.

The sources said that the Moscow area reported 21 attacks all of last year, but experienced 10 just in the last month, a sudden increase that they attributed to the tutoring program.
