IranMania:Iran's ATM and POS systems are expected to soon be linked to systems in seven southeast Asian states following a deal with China, where the central banking data system is located. Once in place, the system linkage will allow ATM and POS cardholders in China, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, South Korea, Macao and Hong Kong will be able to use their cards in Iran.
The project is expected to become operational by early 2006.
