July 13, 2009
FIFE, England — Ingenico has launched the EFT930 Mobile Colour Contactless payment terminal, combining contactless technology with a color screen — paving the way for the development of new point-of-sale services.
According to a news release, the EFT930 is the first contactless mobile payment terminal to receive Visa payWave and MasterCard PayPass certification, meeting all of the latest performance and security requirements. The EFT 930 is able to handle smart cards, magnetic-stripe cards and contactless cards.
A color screen for new applications
The EFT930 Mobile Colour Contactless terminal is equipped with a graphical backlit color screen offering visibility of transactional messages for both customers and merchants, in addition to an improved user experience. The terminal now becomes a user-friendly means of communication, opening the way to new point-of-sale services that go beyond standard payment functions.
As a lightweight portable terminal, the EFT930 incorporates contactless payment technology without requiring the addition of an additional external module.
The terminal also meets the latest security standards. This is the first terminal in its category to be certified in accordance with the two standards required by the banks prior to the deployment of terminals on the market: Visa payWave, the security standard for contactless Visa cards, and PayPass from MasterCard, meeting the new requirements applicable since Jan. 1.
