SPRINGFIELD, Ill. -- An Illinois House committee defeated a measure that would have forced ATMs out of gambling venues, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
The state House Executive Committee on March 1 shot down the measure to prohibit riverboat casinos and racetracks from allowing ATMs in their gambling areas.
Two committee members supported the measure. The other 13 members voted "no" or "present," which has the same affect as abstaining.
