ID Tech releases new PCI 3.x certified PIN entry device

PIN entry solution provider ID Tech has announced the release of its PCI 3.x-certified modular PIN entry device, the SmartPIN B100.

This waterproof, tamper-resistant new model is designed for use in outdoor unattended applications such as ATMs and self-service kiosks, according to an ID Tech news release.

Additionally, the metal body and stainless steel cover and keys have been constructed to endure splashed, spilled and direct liquid spray.

The device uses DES and TDES encryption algorithms, as well as master/session and DUKPT key management to securely transmit encrypted data over the RS-232 or USB-HID communication interface.

"We are excited to expand our product line with the SmartPIN B100 and its upgraded security features and new form factor," said Lance Ning, product manager at ID Tech.
