IBM to sell Omron ATMs

March 21, 2002

TOKYO -- Continuing an ongoing relationship, IBM plans to sell ATMs newly manufactured by the Japanese firm Omron.

Omron announced this week that it will supply 30,000 ATMs to IBM over the next five years on an original equipment manufacturing basis, according to Nikkei English News.

The agreement will enable Omron to boost its annual ATM production to 15,000 units from 6,000 to 7,000 units by the year through March 2002.

IBM intends to sell Omron's fully-functional ATMs in the Asia-Pacific region excluding Japan, South Korea and Taiwan.
