Hyosung in deal to add biometrics to some of its ATMs

January 2, 2003

SAN FRANCISCO -- Hunno Technologies Inc. (OTCBB:HUNN) says that its South Korean subsidiary, a developer of fingerprint recognition technology, has begun a joint-development venture with Hyosung Corporation, calling for the incorporation of Hunno's fingerprint identification scanner into some ATMs manufactured by Hyosung.

According to a news release, Hunno's MS2600 Fingerprint ID Scanner helps prevent bank fraud by denying account access when attempted by ATM users with non-matching fingerprints.

Hyosung counts several leading South Korean banks among its customers. During the most recent World Cup soccer competition, Kookmin Bank installed Hyosung ATMs in 10 World Cup stadiums in South Korea, according to the release.

Organized in 1997, Hunno Korea produced the world's first CMOS-based fingerprint identification module in 1998 and an optical-based fingerprint identification module in 2001.
