Huntington, Cardtronics ink deal for Walgreens placements

November 21, 2005

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Huntington Bancshares Inc. ($33 billion in assets) and Cardtronics LP have closed a deal that will add 33 Huntington-branded ATMs in Walgreen Co. stores in northern Ohio. The branding deal will increase Huntington's surcharge-free ATM footprint to more than 900 machines.

"We are always looking for ways to expand our ATM network to make it easier for customers to bank with Huntington," said Lori Murray, Huntington's retail distribution and operations manager. "By working with Walgreens, one of today's leading retailers, we've created an additional convenience for our customers."

According to a news release, installations are expected to be complete by the end of November.

Of the more than 26,000 ATMs Cardtronics manages across the United States, more than 10,000 are positioned in major merchant locations like Walgreens.
