Finextra:British bank HSBC expects to invest £50 million (U.S. $87.2 million) into growing its national ATM network and extending the range of services it offers through the machines. The bank says it will add 500 ATMs to its network in 2006 - a 17 percent increase from 2,933 to 3,433 units. The bank also is rolling out a mobile phone top-up service across all of its ATMs. "Improving our ATM services is a key priority for 2006," said HSBC's head of self-service, David Nibloe.
