Today, the U.S. House of Representatives will consider H.R. 4367, which seeks to eliminate the Regulation E requirement that ATMs provide a physical fee notice via placard or sticker.
The House convenes at 2:00 EDT and consideration of H.R. 4367 is expected to commence in the afternoon, according to a press notice from the ATM Industry Association (ATMIA).Debate on the bill is not to exceed 40 minutes. Under House rules for bills brought up on the Suspension Calendar, H.R. 4367 cannot be amended on the House floor.
House Financial Services Committee Chairman Spencer Bachus, R-Ala., and ranking committee member Barney Frank, D-Mass., have said they will ask for a recorded vote on the bill. House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, R-Va., has already announced that any recorded votes on Monday will occur after 6:30 p.m. EDT. The bill is expected to pass by a wide margin.
