MILTON KEYNES, United Kingdom - Hanco ATM Systems, the United Kingdom's largest supplier of cash machines, announced it has reached a milestone by installing its 4,000th ATM.
The machine was installed at Budgens supermarket in Hawkhurst, Kent, according to a news release. The 7,000-square-foot flagship store is one of 63 that now have a Hanco ATM.
Todd Hannon, Hanco's managing director, said the company plans to build on the landmark installation.
"The UK cash machine market has really taken off in recent months and Hanco is at the center of this phenomenon," Hannon said. "Growth has been particularly pronounced in retail outlets such as petrol stations, pubs and other leisure venues, which make up the core of our business.
"Indications are that this market trend is set to continue, and we believe our first-class products, service levels and dedication will ensure our continued success," he said.
Hanco is recognized as a pioneer in merchant-fill ATMs in the UK. Retailers use their own cash in the machine, can leave it empty overnight and need only put in as much money as necessary. Hanco provides a free, 24 hour customer helpline.
Company research shows customers visiting a store with an ATM spend more money and shop more frequently than they would at outlets without one, according to the release.
