LONDON -- Hanco ATM Systems Ltd, the UK venture established by veteran ATM deployer Tom Hannon, recently installed its 2,002nd ATM in the UK.
Hannon, who sold his Peachtree City, Ga.-based Hanco Systems to eFunds last February, went live with his first ATM in the UK in July 2000 and opened the UK offices in September 2000. (See related story Mr. Hannon goes to England)
According to a news release, the 2002nd machine went into Punch Pubs' Eight Belles in Bletchley. In July, Hanco signed a five-year deal with Punch Pubs, which sets up franchisees in pub locations, to become the company's exclusive ATM provider. Steve Knight, owner of Eight Belles, said he is pleased with his Hanco machine. "It's a great concept which makes life easier for customers. It saves running down the road to a cashpoint, and that's reflected in takings; people access their cash here, and this is where they spend a proportion of it too."
