GUSTAV: La. FIs keep ATM teams on stand-by

The (Alexandria, La.) Town Talk: Financial institutions in Louisiana were forced to re-evaluate their disaster plans three years ago when Hurricane Katrina sent a massive influx of people into Central Louisiana. With Hurricane Gustav, local banks are working to make sure their ATMs are stocked and that personnel is able to handle the increase in bank traffic. "Katrina was a great learning lesson," said Blake Chatelain, president of Red River Bank. "We kept notes, and I think what we learned was the demand for cash is heavy. We have ATM teams on stand-by."
