CARLSBAD, Calif. - Greenland Corp. (OTCBB:GLCP), seeking technology partners as it rolls out its new self-service cash checking software system, has found one with a funky name but a serious purpose. Greenland has acquired a minority interest in Zzyzx Peripherals Inc. (pronounced "Zee-Zix"), a San Diego-based company that designs and deploys network data storage systems.
Greenland acquired its interest through a preferred stock exchange valued at $600,000. The company did not disclose how large its interest in the privately-held company was. Zzyzx had total revenues of about $29.5 million in fiscal year 2000, Greenland disclosed in a news release.
Zzyzx will integrate its RAID data storage system with Greenland's MAXcash Automated Baking Machine kiosks. The kiosks are supported by Greenland's new Check Central Solutions software system.
