Global IT security spending to total $114B in 2018

According to estimates from Gartner, worldwide spending on information security products and services will amount to $114 billion this year, an increase of more than 12.4 percent from $102 billion in 2017.

The research and advisory firm forecasts that spending will increase an additional 8.7 percent in 2019 to reach $124 billion.

As the chart below indicates, the largest portion of this year's huge total is expected to be spent on security services, followed by infrastructure protection and network security equipment.
