Global Axcess wins major ATM deployment contract

Global Axcess Corp., a Jacksonville, Fla.-based independent ATM deployer (IAD), announced yesterday that it has signed an exclusive agreement to deploy ATMs with a national grocery chain.

As part of the four-year contract, Global Axcess will provide ATMs in 400 or more stores. The rollout of the ATM program is scheduled to begin in July, initially at a rate of 25 locations per month.

Later, the rate will increase to 50 locations per month. Global Axcess did not disclose the new client's name.

"We are pleased to announce this significant agreement," said Michael I. Connolly, co-CEO of Global Axcess. "We expect this will provide our new customer with an opportunity to add new revenue streams and an additional one-stop shop venue that will provide them with a competitive edge."

Global Axcess owns, manages or operates more than 5,300 ATMs and DVD kiosks in its national network, spanning 43 states.
