Global Axcess hires COO

Global Axcess Corp. announced Monday that it has hired its first chief operating officer.

Marc Caramuta, former president of Proficio Mortgage Ventures, LLC, which is based in Orlando, Fla., will be responsible for managing all areas of Global Axcess’ operations and production.

Global Axcess, which is based in Jacksonville, Fla., operates more than 4,900 ATMs and self-service DVD kiosks in 43 states.

“His background in banking operations will serve Global Axcess well as we expand further into the self-service kiosk marketplace,” said George McQuain, the company’s CEO.
