Global Axcess bags supermarket chain

December 13, 2010

Nationwide Money Services, a subsidiary of Global Axcess Corp., today announced that it has signed a five-year contract to deploy ATMs with a supermarket chain based in the southeastern United States. Global Axcess, which has its headquarters in Jacksonville, Fla., declined to name the chain.

The agreement initially covers Global Axcess installing ATMs in 40 of the supermarket's locations. There are plans, however, to deploy the machines in up to 80 locations. Global Axcess is scheduled to begin placing the machines in January 2011.

The value of the total agreement for the initial 40 ATMs is $250,000 to $300,000 per year for up to $1.5 million over five years, company officials said.

"This new, long-term agreement will help our supermarket customer to be more competitive with nearby chains that offer ATMs on-site," said George McQuain, Global Axcess CEO. The company owns, manages or operates more than 4,900 ATMs and self-service kiosks in 43 states.
