The bank will use recycling solutions connected to the Internet to ensure quick, secure transfer of cash deposits to customer accounts.

August 6, 2014

German cooperative bank Volksbank Meßkirch eG has called on NCR Corp. to help transform the FI's flagship branch. Volksbank will deploy NCR SelfServ 32 cash recycling and deposit solutions to improve branch efficiency and customer service, an NCR news release said.

“In addition, the cash recycling solutions deployed are connected to the Internet, so the cash deposited is transferred quickly and securely to customer accounts," said Karl Springindschmitten, managing director of Volksbank Meßkirch eG Raiffeisenbank. "Faster access to funds for both consumers and businesses increases satisfaction, which is good for everyone.”

As the official reseller of Hess Cash Systems in Germany, NCR also has deployed Hess coin deposit solutions at the Volksbank Meßkirch flagship branch.

“Although the number of card payments is increasing in the German market, cash is still the most common payment method used by consumers,” said Harald Heinz, area sales leader for finance at NCR responsible for the D-A-CH region. "People like using cash as it is convenient and allows them to keep track of their finances."

In 2013, German consumers used cash for 54.4 percent of transactions and high levels of cash use are predicted for many years to come.
