FORT WASHINGTON, Pa. -- Genpass Inc. has hired Ralph Bianco, formerly of MasterCard International, as senior vice president for its Genpass Card Solutions division.
According to a news release, Bianco will assume responsibility for card product management for Genpass, which has delivered several specialized card services to the market, including payroll cards -- used by corporations to replace check issuance and payroll accounting -- and medical payments cards -- used by consumers as direct payment from their medical benefits accounts for health-care related expenses. The medical card program uses the MediBank card for which Genpass Technologies is the processor.
Bianco will develop a national strategy for marketing these specialized cards and will play a large role in the development of additional card products for Genpass.
Prior to his position at MasterCard, where he had responsibility for all MasterCard, Maestro, Cirrus and MasterCard electronic branded, consumer credit, debit and prepaid products, Bianco was vice president for product management and development for point-of-sale processor GENSAR Technologies, now Paymentech.
Bipin Shah, Genpass president and CEO, was also president and CEO of GENSAR prior to its sale in 1996. Shah called Bianco "a dynamic innovator."
