GenMega, ACI partner on redemption kiosk/ATM for gaming markets

Casino gaming tech company Automated Currency Instruments Inc. and ATM-maker Genmega have announced a joint venture that will produce a hybrid ATM/redemption kiosk for small casino and bar gaming operators.

The joint venture combines the experience of ACI in providing casino gaming technologies and of GenMega in producing reliable, low-cost ATM kiosks, according to a news release from the two companies.

The first product of the joint venture, the BetCasher Kiosk, will be introduced initially into the Illinois bar gaming market. Features of the system include:

• interface to the central system provider, Scientific Games Corp.;
• ticket redemption with payout to the penny;
• ATM capability;
• slim design with no side car.

Attributes of the machine include:

• 15" LCD touchscreen
• Intel processor running Microsoft Windows
• external bar code scanner
• magnetic card reader
• numeric keypad — triple-DES compliant, encrypting
• dual-cassette cash dispenser (upgradeable to four)
• triple coin hopper

"This agreement gives small casinos and bar gaming customers an unbeatable self-serve redemption kiosk with ATM software," said C.K. Kang, CEO of GenMega and Neal Jacobs, CEO of ACI in a jointly issued statement.
