Garda acquires American Security armored division

MONTREAL, Quebec - Garda World Security Corp., a global security and investigations services provider, has acquired St. Paul, Minn.-based American Security LLC's armored division for $13 million.

The transaction, effective Oct. 1, 2006, will be paid through existing credit facilities.

American Security, which provides armored car, ATM maintenance, change-order and vault-cash services to companies in Minnesota, Colorado and Wisconsin, will continue to operate its security and building-maintenance divisions under its existing name.
