Galitt adds Quick Chip, M/Chip Fast features to terminal test suites

Galitt has updated its KaNest-ICC EMV Level 3 Terminal Test Suites to incorporate  Quick Chip and M/Chip Fast technology. According to a press release, updated versions are now available on the MyGalitt web portal.

Earlier this year, the four major U.S. card brands introduced technologies to speed up point-of-sale transactions by reducing the amount of time the chip card remains in the terminal — without reducing security.

With its most recent update, the Galitt test tool now supports streamlined technologies from American Express Quick Chip, Discover Quick Chip, MasterCard M/Chip Fast and Visa Quick Chip.

According to Galitt, transaction times with Quick Chip and M/Chip Fast processes closely approximate the time required for magnetic stripe transactions.

Merchants and acquirers can reduce time to market by implementing Quick Chip and/or M/Chip Fast in a streamlined terminal certification process with a reduced number of test cases, the release said.
