Fujitsu intros ultra low-profile thermal printer for ATMs

Printers in the new FTP-6xGMCL series conserve mounting space and provide fast throughput, the company says.

September 17, 2015

Fujitsu Components America Inc. has announced the release of the FTP-6xGMCL printer mechanism series, one of the company's smallest 24V thermal printer solutions.

With a 20 percent lower profile than Fujitsu’s previous FTP- 6x9MCL models and a 200 mm per second maximum printing speed, the new components conserve mounting space and provide fast throughput, the company said.

They are ideal for generating receipts, tickets or labels in space restricted, self-service applications, such as ATMs, gas pumps, kiosks, and POS systems, the company said. The series comes in standard 2-inch and 3-inch print widths.

A straight paper path accommodates a range of paper stock from 60 to 150 micro-meters, including liner-less labels and thin tickets (2-inch printer only).

The mechanisms also can be specified with an automatic cutter that performs full or partial cuts, the release said. As a safety feature, the cutter retracts when the front cover is opened when changing paper or during maintenance.
