The Age: ATMs should be banned from all Australian gaming venues because they make it easier for problem gamblers to get cash, said former gaming venue manager Mark Chandler, who worked in the industry from 1993 to 2001. Chandler said he left the business because he felt he was contributing to the financial burden on hundreds of families. He said that in his experience at three venues, ATMs added up to 800 percent to a venue's normal turnover. Chandler has joined the Uniting Church in calling for a government ban of ATMs at gaming venues.
