Police in Cocoa, Florida, charged a 23-year-old Florida man Friday with criminal mischief Friday in connection with punching an ATM, according to the Pensacola News Journal.
A surveillance video shows Michael Joseph Oleksik, of Merritt Island, beating the ATM on Nov. 29 at a Wells Fargo bank branch in Cocoa.
Bank officials said the attack caused at least $5,000 in damages.
Records show that after the attack, Oleksik eventually called the bank and told a manager that he punched the ATM because he was “angry the ATM was giving him too much money and he did not know what to do."
Oleksik told the manager that he was in a hurry for work and apologized for the damage to the bank's ATM.
Police arrested Oleksik Friday and booked him into the Brevard County Jail Complex in Sharpes, Florida.
