FIS intros suite of brand-accredited solutions, services for EMV rollout

The company says its new Clear2Pay Open Test Solutions suite makes EMV conversion smoother and faster for corporations.

FIS, a provider of technology, consulting and outsourcing solutions for the banking and payments sectors, has announced that Clear2Pay Open Test Solutions has introduced a suite of certified EMV solutions and certification services to support EMV terminal integration projects in the U.S. market.

According to an FIS press release, Discover, MasterCard and Visa have already certified its solutions and services and the company expects certification from American Express later this month.

Combined with precertification and certification services, the tools will be used during precertification and brand certification processes for Discover Contact DPAS, MasterCard M-TIP, Visa ADVT and American Express AEIPS. The complete offering optimizes a corporation's time to make EMV conversion smoother and faster, the FIS release said.

"Successful terminal integration is a key phase in any merchant EMV migration," said Marie Costers, general manager of open test solutions at FIS. "This FIS accreditation is a milestone for both our company and the merchant community who will benefit from FIS' premier service to go to market faster with a richer and more secure payment service for consumers."

Before a payment terminal can be brought into the field, it must be tested to ensure correct integration with the acquiring bank; also, all EMV payment terminals must undergo a mandatory certification process following the payment brand regulations and EMVCo specifications.
